  9. Hello Mr Malliaros, My question and situation are quite complicated. And I am sorry that I cannot be so brief. ....After 4.5 sucessful years on my job, more than 20 years ago, I made a mistake counting cash and accidently gave a customer too much money. I frequently handled alot of money in the course of the day. So comparitively it wasn't a lot. But it was a lot to be missing. Well I was short at the end of the day and "freaked" out. Which made everyone think I had taken the cash. I did not. Well, I was asked to leave and have regretted not standing up for myself that day since. I went back to college shortly thereafter so I was unaware of the rumors that surfaced. Well I think my employer told all the other employees I was a thief. I am not. My reputation is worth more than any amount of money. I was told by some friends that my real friends would know the truth. And that I needed to develop a thicker skin. I tried this kind of thinking but...Emotionally I have not been able to be strong and I think my reputation has been scarred. I have moved back to the area and believe people have spread rumors about me and in one case have caused me to not get a job. What do I do. I feel one person in particular is slandering me in my home town. I may be able to get proof....but I am not sure. I have seen shocked looks at my bank and at my local store where I used to work. They have not asked me to come back. I don't know what they think and I have been too afraid to ask. I am not in touch with any of my former coworkers to get confirmation. What could I do? I would like to confront this person and to go back to work....but fear the discussions behind my back. I have a feeling you'll say I need therapy. I have never discussed this with anyone. I would like to stop the spread of rumors and repair my reputation I don't know if that is possible. (For now I would like to remain anonymous if possible) - Anonymous from Methuen, MA

Sorry to hear about your trouble. Even if your former employer told your coworkers you were a thief, unless he or she has repeated the lie within the last three years, the statute of limitations prevents you from suing the person. Statutes of limitations exist because as time passes, memorys fade, witnesses disappear..... I suggest you confront your former boss and tell him/her you never stole a dime.   « less
  10. I will try to make this short but it's confusing. I have had 2 back surgeries since 2005. My question is I was going to my back Dr and was getting steroid injections at different site so I could be out of some pain when I walk. He thought if I went to a non surgical Dr to have a deep injection in my SI joint it would last longer. So I went to a different Dr. who gave me some injections after the last injection he gave me for my SI. I said as it was being done. Ouch why is that hurting so much this time he then asked me if I was diabetic I said yes. about a week later that injection site was so black and blue and I had an indent in my lower back with a bone sticking out. I went to this Dr 4 times and he would never tell me what happen. I went to my back Dr and he kept saying this to me when no one was around and I have the letter. This is just part of it(On direct exam, greys43 clearly has an area of fat necrosis over the posterior superior illiac spine with the skin is pretty much adherent to the bone at that area.) As this Dr said there are 2 kinds of steroid injection one is fine for everyone and one that is not save. The Dr who gave me this letter also says in it, I always use Celestone in that area to avoid fat necrosis. I have photos of my back and my reports on visits to his office which shows how he use the Celestone a couple of time and when this happen he used the other stuff. The letter I received from my back Dr he works in the same associates as the Dr who did this to me. I lost all my fat and muscles in this area and always in pain. Be to a few Dr's for help it took me about a year before I found someone to help. This stared with The bad Dr in Feb - March 2007 Do I have a case? - greys43 from Tyngsboro, MA
